As of the security that I have a backup of my Proms I all
read them out.

Checksums of the Proms
There are 2 types of files. One saved as Binairy and one
saved as Intel files.
*Keep in mind that
you do need an old Prom-reader that can read out B-Proms.
I used a Xeltek
Superpro-III Universal Programmer. (software
download)
